There is a proverb that says "kindness is its own reward” while another states, "giving is its own reward." In the video, Kid President shares many examples of how good spreads.
So what does it mean to you when you hear ‘giving is its own reward”? When I think of the food we collected for the Surrey Food bank prior to Spring Break, it brings me joy. We didn't know at the time how quickly the food bank would need the things we collected. The LEAD students gave their time to make posters, make announcements and collect boxes and boxes of food. Many students’ families at Hillcrest contributed by giving. As I contemplate this event and the kindness we spread as a school, it makes me feel peaceful and happy, a personal reward. Think of a time where you have spread good. In detail, describe what you did, then explain how those on the receiving end might have felt and how it made you feel. Around Christmas time my Oma, me, my sister and some of my cousins chose different things to fund that helps children in Africa in with different things. Some of those things were clean water, schools and supplies for them and food. I felt pretty good after picking a thing to fund and I felt like I was making a difference in the world. All of the children who were affected by it probably felt very grateful and happy for the things they had gotten.

This is really good! At the beginning maybe you could change that to 'my Oma, my sister, my cousins and I" instead of saying "Me"

Not to long ago my younger cousin was getting flu symptoms so they had to stay in quarantine for 2 weeks. They are really young and were getting very bored so my family (while we still were aloud) went to the store and bought lots of crafts, games, Colouring books, chalk and so many other fun things to help them get through there quarantine. Then we drove to there house and left the big bag of stuff by there doorstep. Once we were in our car my mom called her and told her to look outside!

Around summer me and my family always donate clothes to those that don't have much money. We also donate some food to them too, it always gives me a joyful / happy feeling inside. Anyone who got some of the items me and my family donated were most likely for happy and grateful.

Maybe you could explain how you cleaning up the beach helped other people/ the marine life. Also, make sure you use capitals at the beginning of sentences.

Sometime last summer, there was a group of people going to beaches and cleaning them up. For a few of the days that they went, my brother and I also went to help them clean up the beaches. When we got to where they were picking up garbage, there was a dead seal with a plastic bag in it's mouth. It made me feel really sad that people around the world don't even care about what would happen if they leave this plastic cup here.

When I was young I had tons of toys from childhood. I didn't have anywhere to put it, but I also didn't want to give it away because I had so much memories with it. It was very hard, but I decide to give it away, so I donated to childcare, which they will give to homeless or who needs it most. I was still sad, but it was for a good cause. Even though I was a bit sad, deep inside I felt very good and proud of myself because I thought I would never give my childhood toys away.

About two years ago me and a couple of my friends would play baseball on a field close to where we all live if weeks later we thought of a good idea we thought it would be good if we hosted a game for people to watch we sold tickets to raise money for cancer research we raised over 300 dollars. After we finished doing that we gave the money to a lady who was very grateful for it. I think the people that received the money felt joyful and grateful. I felt happy and proud that I had given to others and was rewarded with happiness.

About three years ago, my friend and I went around her neighbourhood and collected food for the food bank. We were out there for about three hours and collected about $150 worth of food. I didn't get to take it to the food bank with my friend but she said that the workers looked really grateful for our donation and it made me feel really good.

Now my mom, my moms mom, my mom's aunt and I are all helping out with it. According to my mom the nurses are very thankful and grateful for the hats. I think this was about 1 year ago. I had a friend who was dealing with girl problems. She had recently lied about liking him. He was so depressed that he wanted to commit suicide. Obviously I couldn’t let that happen so I stayed up some nights explaining “why he matters”

Around a year ago in grade 6, I had this friend who was constantly having problems with this one girl. Something came up where she lied about liking him. He went threw a dark path and eventually wanted to commit suicide. So I did everything in my power to prevent that from happening. I stayed up late on weekends, reminding him why he has importance and that so many people would be devastated if you committed suicide. I told him that he had purpose and that he would find so many different girls that would make him happy. After that experience I’m guessing my friend felt happiness, he was more engaged in stuff and was more excited about certain events we did. I felt great, less stressed, got better sleep but was a little sad knowing that my friend had to go threw all that. But I’m glad I helped him, it was all worth it in the end.

It’s nice that you did that for you mom and step-dad! There are some punctuation mistakes but you can just copy and paste this into a word document to find them! If you want to make this longer try and more detail to why your mom/stepdad felt so grateful coming home to a clean house and why you all felt good! Great job!

In grade five my uncle ran a soup kitchen. I ended up being the most consistent person there. Something that t I tried to do is treat them as an actual person and a member of society. I also make sure to sit with them and always greet them with kindness. It made me feel really good because I think people in that situation are really misunderstood and should be treated like any other person. I hope it made them feel like they had a sense of belonging.
