Technology is both a curse and a blessing.
When it comes to being active, my Fitbit helps remind me to get my steps in hourly and daily. My watch tells my heart rate, how good of a sleep I had and how many steps I’ve gone up. I can measure my progress and I can compete with friends over who has the most active minutes. I can use technology as a tool to make me healthy. On the other hand some technology causes me to be inactive. My TV, internet and Netflix work together to create a “time and space continuum” where suddenly I have binge watched a season of television in a weekend. This binging leads to a sedentary life rather than an active one. Not a healthy way to spend a weekend. So, the question this week is: Does technology make you lazy? Choose a side (you can't pick both or neither) and support your answer with 2 to 3 examples from your own personal experience.

I would really love to be on side not lazy, but the truth is it kind of does make me lazy because when ever I walk around my house and if I see an technology I always tried to avoid it but later on I would be on my sofa and watching Netflix. Also, when I'm using technology most of the time I use it for playing and not exercising which makes me sit in one place and doesn't make me do anything.

Hello Person, I think you’ve done a great job giving examples about laziness. The only thing I would do is add punctuation. Maybe try reading it aloud and seeing where you could add more information and periods. Overall it’s great

For me I think I’m on the lazy side when watching tv. I’ll sit down for a few minutes turn on Netflix and relax. But after a while I start to forget to get up and go and do something. Example 1: watching tv can make you lazy you while feel relaxed but after a while you don’t get up.

Yours sounds great! I would only recommend putting it into a document so you can see and change a few small grammar mistakes. Other than that, it's really good!

I’m on the lazy side when it comes to technology. Here are three examples on why I think technology makes you lazy.

I feel like technology can do both but it definitely makes me more lazy. I do sometimes use technology to do a workout or something active but once I put on my favourite show, I'm sitting in my room doing nothing but watching it. I don't like saying this but I rarely do active things when I'm in the middle of a good show series. If the tv is turned on my brain focuses on the show and I don't get up and go outside or do a craft because the lazy part already inside of me makes me just sit playing an online game. For me, technology makes me lazy and unenergized.

Pretty good but I feel like the finally sentence or two could be a little smoother with wording. Mainly this one “ because the lazy part already inside of me makes me just sit playing an online game.” could be changed up a little to be more smoother. You could get rid of already change it to “because the lazy part of me sits there and plays an online game.” Or something like that

I think technology make you lazy. Firstly, you could spend a entire day playing a certain video game of watching a certain show and not realize it. Secondly, you won’t be very active if you spend your entire day in front of a TV and that isn’t very healthy. Technology can be fun but you have to sometimes limit yourself from playing lots, take a break, read a book, go outside, those are all things you could do instead of spending the entire day in front of a screen.

Wow, this was great. I'm not even sure what to give a feedback for this one, but when I was reading for second time, I realized that you forgot to put a comma in one place. Anyways this was such a good example.

Technology makes me really lazy. If I could, I would sit and do nothing all day and just sit on technology. That is when my school work is finished. I am on video games a lot during the day and I am kinda happy with what i get. There are some parts of the day that i cant play it when i wish i could.

You could use some capitals in your post and some of your sentences would make more sense if they were worded differently. For example, the last sentence you need to add a couple capital “I”s. Also, the third sentence doesn’t make much sense to me.

In my case, technology makes me more active. Now that we aren’t able to go to extra curricular activities, I spend most of my time on technology doing dance classes. I also like to look up songs and learn them on piano, which is a good finger workout. Even before the pandemic started, I would not be able to sit still for too long while on my phone so I would get up and run around my room or do some stretching while watching youtube.

I think that its great how you aren't brainwashed by technology and use it for physical health. I don't really have feed any feed back on this. I think it is well written and has a good point. :)

I am definable on the lazy side. I feel like technology is my life other than my friends. I go on my phone, computer,TV, and iPad for countless hours every week. Especially with staying home everyday all day, i have created some very bad habits on my devices. I will be honest and say I have modified some of them to some days not doing any school and having only a third of all of the online school done, to almost flipping that around completely. I never use my technology as an active source. Sometimes if i feel like working out, I will look up YouTube videos and watch them for tips. My sleeping habits have also gotten very bad because of technology. One of my strong technology habits are every single, night I watch YouTube on my phone or listen to a podcast on Spotify until I fall asleep. Not only is this bad for my sleep, but it is bad for my physical and mental health. Last week I stayed up until 5 am!!! Which caused me to sleep in until 1 pm. It also exposes me to lots of extra radiation.

I think technology makes you lazy because. whenever I someone go on their phone or watch TV it just makes you look lazy because You’re sitting on your couch or you’re in your room just playing on your phone or watching TV. rather than going outside.

There is just some grammar errors like the first sentence there is a period where there shouldn't be, you need to capitalize your words after a period. You say "whenever I someone go on their phone..." That doesn't make any sense. There is a capital where there shouldn't be and just a few more grammar errors. And I also think you should add a bit more context.

I'd say it kinda of does. It doesn't motivate me to do anything else, it does make me just sit around but unlike other people, I know when to stop and do something else. Sometimes it takes more willpower then other times, like when I'm just playing games on my phone. But when I'm playing on my Switch I tend know when to stop for some reason. so I'd say it can make me lazy but I know when to stop.

personally i feel like i am on both sides. At times when i am using technology i can be lazy and binge watch some of my favourite shows like for example Stranger things. But at other times me and my little sister both have fitbits and we go on long walks and see whoever can get the most steps i also can tell when i have been on my phone or watching tv for a long time and know when i should take a break or stop.

I definitely think I’m on the lazy side. Technology is very addicting. Example 1: if I’m ever I’m watching tv or on my phone for too long. I feel less motivated to go outside and do something or even just leave my bed or the couch. Example 2: i don’t know if this is just me but I always find myself watching tv before doing something i’m supposed to do. It usually ends up resulting in me watching tv and not doing what I was supposed to do. Example 3: going on your phone or tv in the morning usually just ends in staying on your phone for a few hours before actually starting your day.

I would definitely be on the lazy side. Technology is fun and addicting. For example whenever I’m distracted watching tv or if I’m on my phone to long, I tend to feel less motivated to maybe go outside or help around the house, the longer I’m distracted for the longer it takes me to leave my couch or my bed. Another example, I usually find myself staying up really late because of my phone, if I’m not tired I’ll grab my phone and watch videos until I pass out, I have definitely ruined my sleep schedule. Lastly, coming back to example 1. If I’m on my phone to long I usually have less energy because I’m laying in my bed all day so when my parents ever ask me to do something, I just say I’ll do it in 5 minutes and than hours go by without me actually doing anything.

I feel that technology make a lot of people more lazy including me. I always find myself saying "I will get up in five minute to go on a walk or something" but before I know it, it has been an hour just siting on my phone. Another example is when I am watching a show at night I say "I will watch one episode than I will go to sleep" but then I keep watch till its super late at night.

When I am on a electronic it normally means that I am not exercising (well... other than my fingers). So I have to say that it makes me feel and be lazy.

Even though I want to say the technology helps me most of the time but technology actually gives me laziness. I do my best to use it for things that helps me with something like school but most of the times I mostly do it for entertainment. I know entertainment is good but if you do it for a long time it could go bad so I would be happy if I can make entertainment and work even. Right now it’s on laziness.

Even though i want to say technology helps me most of the time but in reality technology actually gives me laziness. I do my best to use it for things that help me with life like school and work but most of the times I actually do technology for entertainment. I know entertainment is good but when you do it a lot you do get hooked to technology for a long time and get away from the real world. so sometimes its a problem to me and i'm hoping that I can make entertainment and work even. Another reason is I do kind of get mad (secretly) when I get disrupted by someone. I know its not cool so I'm hoping I can fix this. So right now I chosen the lazy side because the technology always keeps me lazy.
It’s me!!!
26/5/2020 02:46:01 pm
There are many reasons for both side of the argument, it was hard for me to decide but I ended up choosing that it does not make me lazy. For instance, on social media apps I will usually see a recipe for a drink and/or food which I get up and try and usually end up not going back on my phone. Another example is for my dance! We have Vimeo videos that have cardio, tech and combos being sent out daily to use and I use my phone to use and watch them . I also use Apple Watch and it is a great motivator to help me close all active rings!!

Even though technology makes me exercise more, most of the time it makes me lazy. To me when i'm watching tv or playing video games i usually sit and just lay there until I have to do something. Another example of how technology makes me lazy is when i'm doing homework. All i'm doing is sitting there for three hours working.

In my opinion technology can definitely make you lazy. For example usually when I’m bored go on my phone or start watching tv instead of doing my homework or going outside. Or if I’m doing my homework and I get a text from one of my friends and I go on my phone I just keep texting my friend and dont end up doing anything else for the rest of the day, then rush through my homework the morning it’s due.

I think it makes us more lazy, because it makes everything easier so we are not working as hard. I think it is very useful for school, entertainment, and more but I know if I had a choice between doing something like reading most of the time I would choose to use an electronic.

Another example is if don’t have my phone for a week or even a day I find myself being more active and doing things like art.
