Today was a great day. Students finished up their Zentangle Art and we mounted them on black paper before putting them on our bulletin board. In your P.A.R. response, write your favourite subject. Don't write the 3 paragraphs about our read aloud. They also performed very well during the fire drill in the morning.
In the afternoon they got a chance to meet their little buddies in Ms. Fjermestad's classroom. Finally, we did some Taiko Drumming with Mrs. Bugden (pictured above). Students really had a chance to find out whether they had rhythm or not! Homework: 1. Grade 6 Immunization Consent Forms signed and returned 2. Amazing Race Notice and $5.00 due Tuesday, September 20th 3. Any other notice that you have not returned (yellow and green ones) 4. P.A.R. Reminders: Scholastic Orders due September 28th! Today Division 5 had a busy day! We learned about what kind of readers we are with our reading survey. We talked about what makes reading fun, what makes it challenging, compared reading digitally with reading a paper book. It was a great chance for me to get to know the students a little bit better. In the afternoon we teamed up with Division 3 and played some Hunger Games in the gym...the dodgeballs were flying, tensions were high, and great fun was had by all. Homework: 1. Bring $5.00 for planner if you have not already done so 2. Zentangles due TOMORROW 3. Grade 6 Immunization Consent Forms signed and returned 4. Amazing Race Notice and $5.00 due Tuesday, September 20th 5. Any other notice that you have not returned (yellow and green ones) Post a Response: 1. Today I gave you the option to choose your own table groups. The only criteria I gave you was that you should choose a person or people whom you could be successful next to. With that in mind, write a short paragraph explaining your own criteria when you were choosing who to sit with. Without naming names, explain your thought process when picking table groups, and how you thought your choice would allow you to be successful in your learning. 2. Give feedback to at least two other students as to how they could improve their paragraph. Don't forget to also comment on what they did well! 3. Feel free to post funny comments about the video below :) I think I see someone familiar in there.... Here is a little something to have a giggle about tonight. Remember, my part only goes up to 18 seconds in! Hello folks! Thank you again for another fantastic day in Division 5. I have been so impressed with how quickly you focus and how well you use your work time. Keep up the good work! I look forward to reading all of your letters and learning about why I'm so lucky to have you in my class.
