<-------------------If the teacher did in fact live through the history he is teaching, would it be a primary or a secondary source? Answer in the P.A.R. Today Div 5 came back from Thanksgiving weekend with an energetic focus. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood and ready to learn. The grade 6's focused on integers in Math class and appeared to greatly improve their understanding. In Social Studies we examined the differences between primary and secondary sources, which we found to be more challenging than expected. This will be excellent background knowledge to have when we start our Ancestral Past projects. Math 6: pg. 95 Questions A-E. Play some of the integer games on this website. https://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/menus/integers.htm Math 7: See your teachers' website Social Studies: Finish Primary and Secondary Sources worksheet. We will go over tomorrow. If you're not sure, use the definitions and the evidence to make an educated guess. Reminders: Photo Orders are due Thursday, October 14th Scholastic Orders due Monday, October 24th P.A.R: 1. Answer the question in the beginning of my blurb above. 2. Respond to at least two other students and provide feedback on their post. 3. Make revisions to your own post based on the feedback you receive. Today we moved forward in our Hockey Math to ensure we are ready for next week when the NHL season starts. Our graphs are ready to load with players statistics and the students are looking forward to using Math in a fun way. We also got a chance to do some problem solving with Harry Potter! The students looked at a problem from Harry Potter and the Sorcerers' Stone and had to use logic to solve it. Many of them found success very quickly while others had to try different strategies to find the answer. This was an excellent practice in "growth mindset" in which they try to challenge themselves and overcome a problem.
Math 6: No homework:) Math 7: No homework:) Social Studies: Timelines were due today and they look great! Reminders: No school Monday! Scholastic orders due October 24th P.A.R.: Name one thing you are thankful for and why you are thankful for it Our grade 6's had a wonderful day experiencing their grade 6 shots.
