This morning the students learned about how to search strategically on the internet. We talked about a variety of tips for strategic searching and how to have "effective" and "efficient" searches. On our KWL chart we wrote down a bunch of things that we already do when we are searching. Under "Wonder" we wrote down things that we want to learn about effective searching, such as how to find what you are looking for quickly, instead of scrolling through dozens of websites. Math 6: Do corrections from Math Test, get test signed by parents if you haven't already done so. Math 7: Night off! Science: Venn Diagrams for Spiral, Elliptical and Irregular galaxies are due tomorrow. They must be neat! Compare your answer to your rubric. You will have time tomorrow afternoon to work on them. Reminders: December 7th is an early dismissal day. Parents can email me to set up a time for a parent/teacher interview if they wish. I can also be available before and after school the rest of that week. I will send out an email to parents as well. We are collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations for a family in our sister school, Lena Shaw Elementary. We are also collecting non-perishable food items for the Cloverdale Christmas Hampers. We will be setting a class goal this week for how much food and money we would like to reasonably raise. Return your swimming field trip forms and $2.75 P.A.R.: Today we didn't get time to fill out the "Learned" section of our KWL chart about strategic searching. Write down ONE thing that you learned about strategic searching. Please don't use the cop out method of "I don't remember what we did."
