I can't believe how fast this day went by. We started our morning off with an amazing presentation by a person who is an honored member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame, the BC Hockey Hall of Fame, a former player of the Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Flames, and the Vancouver Canucks, my uncle, Darcy Rota! He gave us an inspiring presentation about what it takes to be a leader in all aspects of our lives and it connected really well with our discussions about growth mindset, perseverance, and grit. Afterwards we made Elf Glyphs with our little buddies. The students set a great example for the younger students. Lastly, in the afternoon, we got our Venn Diagrams about the three types of galaxies all finished. Homework: Identity: Complete paragraph of introduction for your rock that you found on Tuesday. If you didn't find one on Tuesday with Mrs. Wood, ensure that you have found one for Tuesday. Hockey Math: Finish your Week 7 worksheet and update your graph. French: Label Dream School and complete 4 sentences. Reminders: December 7th is an early dismissal day. Parents can email me to set up a time for a parent/teacher interview if they wish. I can also be available before and after school the rest of that week. We are collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations for a family in our sister school, Lena Shaw Elementary. We are also collecting non-perishable food items for the Cloverdale Christmas Hampers. We will be setting a class goal this week for how much food and money we would like to reasonably raise. All donations need to be in by December 9th so that we can put together the items for the family by Christmas. Return your swimming field trip forms and $2.75 P.A.R.: What was one thing you learned about in Darcy Rota's presentation today? (FYI, everyone posted yesterday)
