The picture to the right shows 51 Pegasus, a star that astronomers discovered years ago that has planets in its orbit. This afternoon we watched a very informative video called The Edge of the Universe in which we watched and learned how astronomers, astrobiologists, and other scientists discover planets orbiting around stars in our galaxy. The scientists were also investigating microorganisms that could survive in extreme environments such as extremely hot or cold temperatures. They hypothesized that if we do find life on other planets, it will be found in the form of microorganisms and unlikely to resemble our friend E.T. :) Math 6: Finish your chapter review. I would strongly suggest you also redo the mid-chapter review so that you become reacquainted with multiplying decimals. Test is on Tuesday. Math 7: See your teachers' website. Reminders: Monday will be a pajama day! We will be serving hot chocolate in the afternoon. Please bring your own mug for me to pour your hot chocolate into. Make sure you know which one is yours! Scholastic book orders for November are due November 30th. Magic Show Ticket orders need to be ordered in advance. Return swimming field trip forms by Friday, December 9th P.A.R.: Write, in detail, about one thing you learned about in the movie we watched today.
