The students ended the first full week in an excellent fashion. In the morning we had our first assembly of the year and the kids totally demonstrated what it means to be Titans. They listened respectfully during the presentations and set a great example for our younger students.
After our read aloud the students brainstormed answers to two questions: 1. What helps you learn? 2. What keeps you from learning? We used the answers to come up with our class expectations so that we can all know how other students learn and we can be respectful of individual learning needs. After lunch Mrs. Chapman showed the students how to create their library card pockets. Lastly, our very own Joel Baker taught the class a lesson on the basics of drawing anime art. We are just getting started but I know the end products will be amazing! Joel did such a great job of teaching the class. Many students commented on how they normally aren't very good at art but the way Joel taught it made it very easy for them to follow and they all felt successful! Maybe he should be a teacher one day.... Homework: 1. Grade 6 Immunization Consent Forms signed and returned 2. Amazing Race Notice and $5.00 due Tuesday, September 20th 3.
