Today, Div. 2 started the day with a walk and family meeting. We also did research to find what plants were around on Coast Salish territory, hundreds of years ago and what they were used for by the Indigenous peoples who have lived here since time immemorial. After recess, we did an activity on introductory paragraphs. Lastly, we started a project in science called building beasts to demonstrate our knowledge of the adaptations that organisms have to survive in their environment.
Reminders: We are up against all of the other divisions to compete to see who can bring the most items for our food drive. All items will be donated to the Surrey Food Bank. Please Div 2, bring in as much as you can! P.A.R.: Write an engaging topic sentence for your non-fiction picture book, based on your own topic. Make it interesting to hook the reader! Respond to one other student with constructive feedback. Share one thing you like about their topic sentence and one thing you think they could improve.
