This morning students did a long write (some for the FSA's, some just to provide me with a writing sample:) and they worked so hard! I was very impressed with a lot of their ideas for an invention that would make life better in some way, whether it is to benefit people, animals, the environment, etc.
After recess we had our Math Celebration of Learning and the students demonstrated their knowledge about divisibility rules, common multiples, and greatest common factors. Because I know this is the first question I will get from students as they hand them in, students, you will get them back marked by Tuesday. In the afternoon, Mr. Stewart took the boys soccer team to Martha Currie to participate in our play day. Best of luck! Everyone else went to a variety of classrooms where they either worked with the students in that class, or they worked on their Halloween stories. Reminders NO SCHOOL MONDAY-Thanksgiving! Our first coffee morning will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd. Parents are invited to bring their morning coffee and visit the classroom to see what their children have been working on so far this year. Our classroom door will open at 7:45 am. A notice will be sent home as a reminder next week. P.A.R.: Yesterday we talked about our work habits, listening skills, organization. What is a goal you are going to set for yourself between now and our coffee morning?
