Today, Division 2 worked on their Halloween stories. Mr. Stewart took turns conferencing with students to check in and provide feedback. After recess, we skipped Math and instead we finished our class read-aloud, Gracefully Grayson. While we weren't happy with the lack of information in the ending, it was great to see Grayson get to be who he wanted to be.
Reminders: TOMORROW: Friday, October 18th: Amazing Race from 5:30-9:00pm. Tuesday, October 22nd: Coffee morning from 7:45-8:30. Please pay $5 for your planner online, or bring cash. Leadership applications due Tuesday morning P.A.R.: If your computer number is EVEN, you are arguing perspective number 1. If your computer number is ODD, you are arguing perspective number 2. You need to state your argument and support it using examples from the book. You must ALSO respond to at least one other student and respectfully argue against their statement, also using examples and evidence from the book. This means that you will be posting a minimum of TWO times. Feel free to respond to more if you wish. 1. Aunt Sally believes that Mr. Finnegan (Finn) was wrong to give Grayson the part of Persephone. She feels he should not have been allowed to make that decision. Aunt Sally also believes that by casting Grayson as Persephone, he will be bullied. Argue (respectfully) why Aunt Sally is right. Ensure you use examples from the book. 2. Uncle Evan believes that Mr. Finnegan (Finn) did a great thing by casting Grayson as Persephone. Use examples and evidence from the book to explain why Uncle Evan is right.
