Please explain how the above cartoon is a metaphor. Today we discussed metaphors and similes in relation to our Hallowe'en stories that we are writing. Grade 7 students buckled down and wrote their math tests while our grade 6's studied for their tests which are tomorrow. Good luck everyone!
In the afternoon we discussed examples of open, thoughtful questions. Here are some examples that we came up with: What holidays did you celebrate and how did you celebrate them/what were some of your traditions? What was it like growing up with 3 sisters and 1 brother under one roof? What were your thoughts on the war? What was the reasoning behind moving from the Ukraine to Alberta? What is one word you would use to describe her and why? The questions should allow the answer to be told as a story instead of a one word answer such as "Ddi you like living there? What is your birthdate? How many siblings do you have?" Math 6: Test tomorrow. Practice chapter review questions, mid chapter review questions, and order of operations Math 7: Night off:) LA: Resumes due Thursday morning Halloween Story due October 28th Reminders: Scholastic orders due Monday October 24th Art Cards due November 1st P.A.R.: Give one example of a simile and one example of a metaphor. Provide feedback to at least two other students and make any revisions necessary based on the feedback.
